Lush Cosmetic Warrior Fresh Face Mask Review

What Lush says:
A superhero face mask to combat spots, cleanse dirt, calm and soothe all troubled skins. Antiseptic fresh garlic and tea tree essential oil, reinforced with deeply cleansing kaolin and fresh grapes, are aided by softening honey and free range eggs. Apply to clean skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave for five to ten minutes, then rinse away.

Ingredients:
Kaolin, Fresh Green Grapes (Vitis vinifera), Fresh Free Range Eggs, Honey, Cornstarch (Zea mays), Glycerine, Fresh Garlic (Allium sativum), Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), *Limonene, Perfume

My review:
I've tried Lush's Catastrophe Cosmetic and Cupcake in the past. Cupcake broke me out something awful (I'm never touching a cocoa butter face product ever again with a ten-foot pole), and Catastrophe Cosmetic left this unpleasant film over my face afterwards and contains talc, which tends to have pore-clogging tendancies.

Cosmetic Warrior is the first FFM that I'm quite impressed with. I have oily, acne-prone skin, and I had a few whiteheads and spots before I first began using this mask. This mask managed to clear up my acne within two uses! It has kaolin clay to deep cleanse, green grapes and tea tree oil to fight acne, eggs for gentle cleansing, and honey for antibacterial qualities. All these ingredients combine together to create a potent acne-fighting mask! After you've used your cleanser, you just apply a layer of the mask over your face, wait for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse it off (I use a washcloth). I follow up with Lush Tea Tree Toner, Grease Lightning, and then CeraVe moisturizing cream.

The only con that I can find with this mask is the smell. It smells strongly of garlic and tea tree oil, which to most people isn't the greatest of combinations. I know my mom is sensitive to smells, so all her products are fragrance-free. Personally, this mask works too well for me to give it up for the smell, and to be honest, I've gotten used to the smell so it really doesn't bother me too much. If you're sensitive to smells though, this may not be for you. In addition, like with all fresh face masks, it has a shelf life of about 3 weeks, so you'll have to use it up before then.

Texture: It's about the same as other Lush masks. There's chunks of garlic in the mask, like how Catastrophe Cosmetic has blueberry skins in its mask.

Scent: Smells strongly of garlic and tea tree oil.

Overall:

4.5/5
